Hardware Assembly

Estimated time: 10–15 minutes
Tools needed: Phillips #1 screwdriver (included with the Argon ONE V3 case)

1. Insert the microSD Card

Insert the pre-flashed microSD card into the slot on the underside of the Raspberry Pi 5. Gold contacts face toward the board. Push until it clicks.

2. Apply Thermal Pads

Peel the thermal pad and place it on the SoC (large square chip, center of the Pi 5 β€” Broadcom BCM2712). If a second pad is included, place it on the RAM chip.

⚠️

Don't skip thermal pads. The aluminum case acts as a heatsink, but only with thermal contact.

3. Attach the Daughter Board

Align the Argon ONE V3 daughter board with the Pi 5's GPIO header and micro-HDMI ports. Press down firmly until it clicks.

4. Mount into the Case

Lower the Pi + daughter board into the aluminum bottom case. Align the 4 mounting holes with the brass standoffs. Screw in the 4 silver M2.5 screws β€” finger-tight plus a quarter turn.

5. Connect the Fan

Connect the fan cable from the top cover to the fan header on the daughter board.

6. Close the Case

Lower the top cover onto the bottom. Screw in the 4 black M2.5 screws on the underside. Apply the 4 rubber feet to the bottom corners.
